Bengalooru Habba 2007

The Bengalooru Habba is back and this time it seems to be more colourful. It is being sponsered by Airtel. The festival is going to continue through November 30th to December 9th 2007. Also, there is a few new additiotions like swimming, golf etc. Below are the intenery for the 5th Bengalooru Habba:
- Government school dance workshops - November 26 - 30. final competitive performamces - December 8, at Jawahar lal bhavan, cubbon park(10.30 am to 1pm)
- Kala Madhyama crafts and performing arts mela - November 30 to December 8, at Chitra kala parishath. Over 200 artisans from 21 states will showcase various products.(11 am to 8 pm)
- Swim meet - December 2 at Bowring Institute.(8 am to 5 pm)
- Golf Tournament - December 5 at KGA Golf Course, tee off 7 am.
- Classical music and dance - December 2 - 6at Ambedkar Bhavan(6pm to 9 pm)
- Dance and Music - December 3 -6 at JSS Auditorium, Jayanagar(6 pm to 9 pm). Performance by Kasarvalli Sisters, Vasundara Doreswamy and Lalitha Srinivasan, M S Sheela, dancers Shubha Dhananjay, Sheela Chandrashekar and Radhika Chaitanya, TAS mani, Sanjay and Sharma, T S Krishnamurthy, dancers Aishwariya Nityananda and Indrani Parthasarathi, Kattyk Datar, Soma Shekar, B N Ananth and Srinivas.
- Carnatic Classical Music - December 2 - 6, at Gayana Samaj(6-9 pm). Performamces by Amrutha Venkatesh and Tirchur V Ramachandran(decemver2), Vinay Sharva, Ganesh and Kumaresh(December 3), Vasudha Keshav and Satyanarayana(December 4), Ashwini and Gurucharan Sikkil(December 5), Sahana and Vidyabhushana(December 6).
- English Theatre - December 2 - 6, at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall, 7 pm. Jazz by Stagesmith productions(December 2), Love Letters by rage Productions(December 3), Mahadevbhai by Jaimini Bhai(December 4), Art by Evam(December 5), Kanyadaan by Lillette Dubey(December 6).
- Kannada theatre and regional music - December 2 - 6, 6 - 9 pm at Dr. Rajkumar Auditorium, Rajajinagar. Kamsale and Mysore Mallige(December 2), Rangageethe and Higidre Haage(December 3), Kamsale and Huthadalli Huttha(December 4), Chowdike Pada and Nadubeedi Narayana(december 5), Janapada Hadu and Pugalendi Prasanga(December 6).
- Jazz Festival - December 5 - 6at Alliance Francaise, 7 - 9 pm. Suburban Jazz Ensenble(December 2), Global Unity (December 3), Gererd Machado(December 4), Brown Indian Band(december 5), Jazz Junction(December 6).
- Rock Festival - December 5 - 6, at palace Grpunds, 7pm onwards. Slain, Tidal Wave and Galeej Gurus(December 5), Synapse, Launge Piranha and karma 6(December 6).
- Grand Finale - December 7 - 9 at palace grounds, 6 pm onwards. Carnatic violin by L Subramanium and Ambi Subramanium, Kathak emsemble by Aditi Mangaldas and Rock Band Parikrama(December 7), Talba by Taufiq Qureshi, rock show by pentagram and bandish(December 7), Hindustani flute and carnatic saxaphone by Ronu Majumdar and Kadri Gopalnath, performamce by Sukhwinder and Bollywood Night(December 9).

@ Sharon - The dates for Bangalore Habba 2008 are not yet out. However, it takes place in the last quarter of every year. Check the official website in this regard - http://www.bengalooruhabba.com/

The official website for the Bangalooru Habba is in a state of error, when at the earliest can you confirm the dates for 2008
