BMTC and KSRTC Bus Fares Hiked

Those of who are traveling by bus in Bangalore please be informed that bus fares has been hiked. The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation(BMTC) and Karnataka state Road Transport Corporation(KSRTC) have hiked their fares with effect from today. KSRTC has increased its fares by 10% for ordinary services and by 12% for other services. BMTC has hiked its fares by 8.8%. BMTC justified its hike in fares by saying it was done to mobilize resources. However, student pass, daily passes, and first stage and second stage tickets have been exempted. Also, Vayu Vajra(volvo buses) and Suvarna services are exempted from this hike.
