Father’s Day Celebrated by Save Indian Family Foundation in Bangalore

June 19, 2017 – 4:51 pm

Father’s day is typically celebrated on the third Sunday of June every year. Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. In Bangalore Save Indian Family foundation (SIFF) celebrated this Father’s day in a unique way. Volunteers from SIFF took out a silent walk from near MG road metro station walking through Brigade road – Residency road – Residency cross road – MG road. Finally closing near Times of India office. Volunteers walked with placards which had letters written which together read HAPPY FATHER’S DAY. Throughout the walk we wished people with Happy Father’s Day and on most occasion we were wished back. We have also distributed pamphlets to raise awareness on conditions of large number of fathers in India. We received good response from the public and interacted with a lot of passerby. People were really curious and then when they read on our Placards – Happy Father’s Day they repeated the same with a smile and telling someone they were walking with.

Many people were curious and inquired about it. Our volunteers explained that we are celebrating Father’s day. On Brigade road our Volunteer Narshing distributed a pamphlet to one traffic police while I wished him Happy Father’s day. The traffic police was all smile.

We have got good co-operation from the public and as well as traffic police. People from the public spoke to us on camera and expressed their wish for their father. Some of them even participated. Watch some videos:

We also saw a lot of people taking pictures and some people even wanted to get themselves clicked with the placard holding volunteers. We are encouraged by the response. We wish everyone a very happy father’s day. Wish all fathers get to be with their child and hope all child could be with their father.
