The concept of rural tourism is quite new. As in India most of us has experienced rural environment sometime. But as our country is getting urbanised there are many who did not have the opportunity to have a rural experience. Mostly this kind of tourism concept sells with the western tourists. This is an one day tour organized every saturday and sunday, which takes you to Halenijgal village, Neelamangala, 55 Kms from Bangalore off Tumkur Road.

Tour Plan:

7:30 AM- Start from Bangalore
9:30 AM- Reach Village
9:35 AM- Breakfast at Host’s home
10:00 AM- ECO trek
12:30 PM- Semi Halt at a hilly house
1:30 PM-  Trek to Village Lake and Water Deity
2:30 PM- Hike to village temple half-way to hill – Lunch and Relax
4:00 PM- Trek back to Host home, criss-cross through paddy and ragi fields
5:00 PM- Tea & Lime Juice
5:30 PM- Back to Bangalore

The whole thing excluding travel will cost you Rs 500 and,

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Tea/Coffee, Lime Juice, Tender Coconut Water, Guide Fee etc.

  3. I came across this as the only option for Rural Tourism. I have been trying to do this for some time. Glad that something like this exists. Will try out very soon.
