Have You Verified Your Tenants?

With terror and crime graph rising in Bangalore, it may be wise for landlords to verify their tenants. It was once again highlighted with the arrest of 16 Bangladeshis including women who entered India illegally and were staying on the outskirts of Bangalore. They told they were labours and were doing petty jobs. One of them was found with conterfeit notes of Rs 1000. Bangaldeshis used to infest only West Bengal and north eastern India. But they started to move to other parts of India and now Bangalore is hot spot for them.
So landlords get up and do not just go for the money. Verify your tenants before letting your house or it may be too late.
A few tips which may be helpful:
1. Always verify the tenants’ whereabouts and cross-checkwith their earlier house owners before renting out the house.
2. Never forget to check the documents for authenticity before signing the rent agrement. If anything seems suspicous take them to the nearest police station for verification.
3. If the tenants are acting suspicous, alert the police.
