KSTDC Tour Packages

One of the most carefree ways to see some of the most beautiful places in Karnataka is to go for the KSTDC tour packages. One can book for these guided tours in advance from the KSTDC offices or franchises. Also, you can book over the phone. Most of them are good weekend tours. I can tell from my experience that they are one of the best ways to bust your stress and monotony. KSTDC have a wide range of tours but many had been abandoned due to poor response. I know KSTDC and Karnataka tourism department is doing good promotion of tourism in the state but I feel they can increase volume from within the state also. Many people are new and may not know, some not sure what to do, some may be shortage of time etc. So some aggresive marketing strategy like visiting companies once in a week or setting up a desk in companies with the companies staff itself(they may sweeten this by offereing some discount), visting residential homes once in a while etc can do wonders for it. Here I will try to give a list of the operational KSTDC package tours:

1. New Bangalore Sightseeing (Wednesday to Sunday)

Timings: Dep: 7.15 a.m Arr: 8 p.m
Destinations: Rajarajeswari Temple, HAL Museum, Bannerghatta National Park, Sankey Boat Club, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, ISKON Temple, Prasanna Anjaneya Temple, Musical Fountain and Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat
Fare: Rs 264/-(Non A/c)

2. Mysore Sightseeing (daily)

Timings: Dep: 7.15 a.m Arr: 11 p.m
Destinations: Srirangapatna, Daria Daulat, Gumbaz, Ranganatha Swamy Temple, Mysore Place, St. Philomina’s Church, Chamundi Hills, Zoo, Art Gallery, Cauvery Handicrafts Emporium and Brindavan Gardens.
Fare: Rs 435/- Non A/c Rs. 560/- Volvo A/c +10%

3. Belur, Halebeidu, Shravanabelagola (Daily)

Timings: 7.14 a.m Arr: 10 p.m
Destinations: Temples at Belur, Halebidu and Sravanabelagola
Fare: Rs. 550/- Non A/c Rs. 625/- Volvo A/c +10%

4. Titupathi - Mangapura - 1 Day (Every Sunday to Thrusday)

Timings: Dep: 10 p.m Arr: 8 p.m 2nd Day
Destinations: Lord Venkateshwara Temple and Padmavathi Temple
Fare: Volvo A/c Coach: Rs 1200/- + 10% (including cellar darshan and accommodation for bathing)
(Mobile phones and electronics goods not allowed inside the temple)

5. Tirupathi - Kalahasthi (Every Friday and Saturday)

Timings: Dep: 10 p.m Arr: Third Day by 9 p.m
Destinations: Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Alamelu Mangapura, Srinivas Mangapura, Kapilatheertha, Kalahasthi and Lord Venkateshwara Temple.
Fare: Rs 1250/- + 10% (including spl. band darshan and accommodation for 1 night only)

6. Mysore - Ooty - Kodaikanal - Doddabetta Coonor (Mon,Thur, Sat(in season) Mon, Thur(Off season)

Timings: 7.15 a.m Arr: 6 a.m 5th day
Destinations: Srirangapatna, Mysore, Krs, Ooty, Coonoor, Doddabetta, Kodaikanal
Fare: Rs 3000/- (including accommodation) + 10%

7. Temple Tour (5 days)

Timings: Dep: 9 p.m(Thrusday) Arr: 6 a.m(Monday)
Destinations: Horanadu, Kalasa, Sringeri Sharada Temple, Kollur Mookambika Temple, Murudeshwar, Anegudda Vinayaka Temple, Udupi, Katil, Mangalore and local, Dharmasthala, Kukke Subramanya.
Fare: Rs 1700/- + 10% (including accommodations)

8. Mantralaya, T.B. Dam, Hampi (4 days)

Timings: Dep: 8 p.m (Friday) Arr; 6 a.m (Monday)
Destinations: Mantralaya - Raghavendra Swamy temple, Tungabhadra Dam, Hampi.
Fare: Rs 1200/- + 10% (including accommodation)

9. Nagarhole, Mercara, Nisarga Dhama, Golden Temple (Bailukuppe)(2 days) daily in season(April - June) Very Friday and Saturday(during off season)

Timings: Dep: 7.15 a.m 1st day Arr: 10 p.m 2nd day
Destinations: Gomatagiri, Golden Temple, Cauvery Nisargadhama, Mercara Local, abbi falls, Bhagamandala, talacauvery, Nagarhole.
Fare: Rs 1100 /- + 10% (including accommodations)

10. South India Tour (9 days)

Timings: Dep: 2nd Saturday 6 a.m Arr: 6 a.m (9th day) Sunday
Destinations: Thiruvanamalai, Thirunallar, Tanjore, Srirangam, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Courtlam Falls, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Kaladi, Guruvayur, palani, Kodaikanal.(Please carry dothi and saree compulsory)
fare: Rs 5000/- + 10% (including accommodations)

11. Shivasamudra, Somnathpur, Ranganathittu (1 day)

During seasons (July to October) - Sundays and Holidays
Timings: 7.15 a.m Arr: 8.30 p.m
Destinations: Cauvery falls, Somnathpura Temple and Bird Sanctuary
Fare: Rs 410 + 10%

12. Hogenakal Falls, Krishnagiri Dam (1 day) Sundays and Holidays (July - October)

Timings: Dep: 7.15 a.m Arr: 8.30 P.m
Destinations: Hogenakal falls and Krishnagiri Dam
fare: Rs. 410 +10%

13. Jog Falls, Keladi Temple Tour (3 days)

Timings: Dep: 10 p.m Arr: 6 a.m 3rd day
Destinations: Jog falls, Linganamakki Dam, Aameshwara Temple and Keladi
Fare: Rs. 950/- + 10% (including accommodation for bathing)

14. Munnar, Thekadi, Kumarakom, Guruvayur (6 days)

Timings: Dep: 7 p.m Every Wednesday Arr: 6 a.m Monday2 nights at Munnar and 1 night at Thekadi. Please carry dothi and saree compulsory.
fare: Rs 4350/- +10% (including accommodations)
