Meet India’s First Women Bouncer

India is a largely conservative country except the metros and cosmopolatin cities will not be an understatement. Hence, women’s participation in various sphere of job has been slow but it is happenning. Now a days you can find a women in almost every sphere of job. Today, I found one more male ghetto has been busted with India having its first women bouncer. By the very name pub/disco the general public starts thinking in a negative way. You may find women bartenders or performers in big 5 star bars/discs or big pubs/discs but no women bouncers. But all this has changed with Amandeep Kaur being hired by the pub Score in Chandigarh, Punjab.

The male bouncers check the male guest and Amandeep check the female guest. It makes natural sense that female guests be checked by a female. But I can understand from my visits to Pubs/Discs, how hectic job it can be with guests flaunting to be who’s who, drunken jerks and over that pressure of security and law and order. But definately as a team they can handle it. Women do have scope and it mutually beneficial to both women and the entertainment industry and guests. But one thing should be high on the agenda, there should be adequate security for women doing such jobs. Read more ……
