Movie Review: Bourne Ultimatum

November 21, 2007 – 2:14 pm

Bourne ultimatum is the third in the series. This is the story of David Web who is transformed into a hypnotic assasination man “Jason Bourne” of the CIA. This movie is no nonsense, fast paced and complete value for money. On the contrary our Indian film industry churns out around 1000 films per year but how many delights your brain and eyes. Now many will term this movie as mindless violence. But if one understands the plot, it is a thriller and the intensity will be more as this could be real. We can take the example of operation Rafatgar of Mossad following the Munich olympic Massacare of Israeli athletes in 1972.

However, here most of us are just content with running around tree movies. We complain that filmmakers do not make different movies but I think what they can do when most of the off beat movies fail at the box office. They need to make money to survive to make another movie. A lively romantic movie like DDLJ is welcome and is refreshing. An example could be why “Black” did not do that good inspite of stunning performances – may be many in the mass even did not understand what was going on.

With the advent of multiplexes atleast we get to see some movies on different subjects. I read somewhere that off beat filmmakers even did not get to release there movies at times before. It is sad that people give a flop verdict to good inspirational movies like Lakshya.
