Pune Based IBM CSR Gang Raped

August 10, 2008 – 11:01 am

A young women working as a CSR in IBM call center in pune was gang raped on the night of August 7. It is believed to the handiwork of cab drivers (probably 8 - 10). She was found unconscious on a hillock near Phursungi, about 30 Km from city center. She is currently under going treatment and not in a position to speak. This was waiting to happen and more such incidents will probably happen as our criminal justice system do not deliver justice on time. Last year, a HP BPO employee Prathibha Murthy was raped and murdered by a cab driver in Bangalore. It is more than a year now but no justice is in sight. If justice is not delivered on time, then how a nation or society can create effective deterrents to stop such criminals.

In our country it drags on like bullock curt. By the time case hearing comes, the person may not be intersted any more or may have even passed away. Why is it so difficult for our police to put in hard evidence in the first place? Now many will voice corruption, agreed. But what a cab driver can offer? BPO and call center companies are doing their best protect their female employees but it becomes difficult when cab drivers ploy to do such henious crime. The incident which place in Pune on August 7 seems like pre-planned or how come 8 - 10 drivers can come at the same place to do that act. May be time has come for the companies to start gathering intelligence on their cab driver’s activities.

Last, one such incident happened with a Wipro Spectramind employee and it happned again now. Where are the deterrents and where are the security? If this is not checked, ultimately the economy will be effected. Many women will opt out of night shift jobs and then companies will cry for quality people. And for some who will have no options, will continue to fell prey to such vampires.

Update: (12/08/2008) We were talking about the pace of judgement in India. I got a live example to share with you. Today the Delhi high court awarded capital punishment to taxi drivers for raping, robbing and murdering an Australian tourist named Dawn Emilie Griggs. The incident took place in 2004 and the judgement is today in 2008 - 4 years latter! For such henious crime, there is no better detterent.

  1. One Response to “Pune Based IBM CSR Gang Raped”

  2. JUST THINK FOR A WHILE; ARE WE CIVILIZED HUMANS

RAPES ARE not rare issues in India, be it Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore or Mumbai. But, this time it’s Pune. According to the Pune police sources, a 22-years-old girl who works with IBM call centre was allegedly gang-raped at Phursungi on Thursday (August 7) midnight. It came to public notice on Friday after the victim’s boyfriend filed an FIR against some unidentified people with the city police on the alleged gang-rape.

The police officials have been on their toes as they have been finding contradictions and skepticism in the alleged complaint of gang-rape of the staff. The victim is an employee of IBM call centre at Phursungi (nearly 29km from Pune). As per the FIR inputs by Hansraj, who calls himself her boyfriend, got a call from her on the night of August 7 saying she was called back to the office for an urgent task.

As per the complaint lodged with the city police, the girl was picked up by a cab driver who drove her near a hammock where around 10 men were already waiting for her. They allegedly took turns to sexually abuse her.

Presently, the victim is undergoing medical treatment at a hospital and is under deep mental trauma. She is not in a state to talk on the dreaded incident.”

These above incident irrespective of the outcome who is responsible shows that we as human beings are well below the animals while state oursleves as the highest living creature on the world.have u ever seen rape happening in animal s in the rtriabl societyies!!!imagine a girl being sexually attacked by 8-10,peopel. forget the physical harm the most effect will be on her psycologicaly which will remain for ever .
also our so called society will never accept her becuse she is a raped girl!!!! becuse evry so called male wnats avirgin girl for a mrraige even he goes to hundreds of prostitues before his maaraige!!
what a bustard society is this and we are proud of being apart of it.

This also add that the so called modern socieety who lives in the advanced cities such thinghs happen very often because people have become very self centretd , there will be hardly any respeonse from the so called society , perhaps all the peopel will blame the girl in either way ,even women folks will hardly come out in favour of the girl becasue for such cases the most cahlleging job is to overcome the trauma of the victim.

just think for a while the peopel who were involved in the act , were they really man!!!! can we be really proud of our existenece!!! , they are actually all hijras/impotent to me who rapes a girl in a group!!! because that shown their impotency and failure in life.

Another interesteing feature hardly you will see happening in so called underdveloped areas likes adivasis , they have the highest respect for woman hood . in fact i myself come from remote areas of Assam which is quite remote but ther is no red light areas!!!. our adjacent state meghalaya write the surname of their mother , such is the respect to the woman hood but we underdeveloped by the so called modern society!!!.If this is the picture of so called developed society it is better to remain underdeveloped . at least you pay respect to huma value .why all this is happeneing becauise of teh rise of possisiveness in us we want something so by hook or by crook we wish to get it!!!!

So its is really shame not for the person who were involved but for the human society as a whole who can degrades down to such a level that a group of person does to a single woman.

I think such people should be canned in open public and their sexual organ should be cut off for ever instead of going to the law. that’s why i sometimes favour the law that is given in middle east areas.
