Slumdog Millionaire Going Places!
January 23, 2009 – 5:37 pm

Slumdog Millionaire going places and getting recognization far and wide. Meanwhile, may people in dilema about the ethinicity of the film. Film personalities in India are drumming this is recognization of Indian flim and trying to gain coverge if any. And then there are people who are at pain to explain that this movie is not Indian as it was directed by a British, Danny Boyle, the protagonist Jamal (Dev patel) a British too and financed in Europe. Then there are few are sad that they lost the race to buy the rights of the book “Slamdog” written by Vikas Swarup (deputy high commisonner of Indian mission, South Africa). The right was bought by Channel 4 of UK and they selected Danny Boyle to make the movie. Danny Boyle has been successful in keeping the reality feel.
There is so much clamouring among Indian directors then why cant’s make movies which faces reality. Day before yesterday I was watching Defiance starring Daniel Craig. The movie based on a true story, shows the human spirit in dire strait. I am glad that this Slumdog was made in India with Indian actors and NRIs. The flim did made India proud as it give India the first Golden Globe award in form of music score to AR Reheman. In all Slumdog Millionaire won 4 Golden Globe Awards including best director for Danny Boyle.
At the Golden Globe award function our King Khan (SRK) was ready to do a Indian pelvic dance but why was he not ready to be the host of the reality show? Was it too small for him? Anil kapoor gained at his expanse. Now that Slumdog has been nominated for 10 Oscar awards, the final blast is still awaited.

One Response to “Slumdog Millionaire Going Places!”
Film is not “celebration of creativity”…..it is just any other movie made with goody-goody feel on human relationship and Love prevails non-sense. It is just that it is made by a westerner and distributed by “Fox Searchlight Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures”…hence it made a global opening….
India is portrayed as a pathetic slum which west wanted to see as they do not want to tarnish the image which they comply with.
Rest stupidity of congress to take the credit is cheap and they should try to do something for country rather than taking a bath in the glory of some movie.
