Touts at KSRTC Bus Stand, Majestic

Today I read an article on the same subject - Touts at KSRTC bus stand. It is a general sight at Majestic bus stand - touts trying to entice passengers for private buses. However, today I will share an incident which occured more than 4 years ago in 2004. I along with one of my friend and one of my cousin brother was on the way to Pondicherry. We reached the KSRTC bus stand and were looking for bus. One of the of those touts offered to provide tickets and took over thousand rupees from us and led us to believe that we have seats on a PSTC (Pondicherry State Transport Corporation) bus. Taking that for granted we were setting comfortably. After sometime, a bus conductor came and asked for ticket and we told we have already paid. Then the real story started to unfold. The conductor told us that they have no relation with any third party and we will have to buy tickets again. I still remember, the actual ticket price was only Rs 105.
There are many out there who are on the look out to con you. So take a note of my story and keep such touts at bay. Buy bus tickets only from authorized ticket counters or from the bus conductor. If you buying ticket for private bus, buy tickets from the ticket counter. Do not buy or give money to any intermediate persion.
