Visit To Cambridge Layout Durga Puja Pandel

The Cambridge Layout Puja Pandel is more of community one and do not have much of decoration of idol or pandel in comparision to Kolkata. The first look before entering the mantap will make one feel that puja pandels are a good medium of advertisement with HSBC, Relience etc. May be these companies have offered something. Also, they have installed few food stalls and some cultural programmes have been arranged. But this is good enough arrangement for this locality and is good get together for Bengalies.  Had to get up early in the morning with just 4 hours of sleep in the early morning. With hurry to reach the durga puja pandel at cambridge layout made me feel festitive atmosphere. After reaching the mantap, the first thing that caught my eyes are the big advertisements of HSBC Bank and Reliance. I think may be this companies have sponsered something there. Inside the hall there was huge gathering of Bengalis as expected. But this year the the crowd has increased. We went with offerings for goddes Durga like saree, sweets etc and we were supposed to hand over the stuffs to somebody in charge there. But it all chaos out there. However, we were fortunate to be there in the first few in the queue and handed over our stuffs to the volunteer. Then we moved on to offer anjali(prayer) but was little confused about the queue. So we decided to sit a little while. After the first batch of prayer was over we swiftly swung into action to get into the big queue. Took a few close up pictures which are there for your to view. Overall a good place to get your rituals done and is a good get together for bengalies.
